Alan Hamerman is a seasoned politics and public affairs practitioner, advising politicians and high profile individuals around the world.
Following training as a journalist in New York, and time in agency Public Relations, he moved into political communications consultancy where he ran successful campaigns for New York Mayor Ed Koch and New York Governor Mario Cuomo. His skill as a political campaigner led to invitations to work with President Ramos in Manila and Prime Minister Mahathir in Kuala Lumpur.
Since basing himself in London in the 1990s, he has worked with New Labour architect Philip Gould, the leading US pollster Stan Greenberg, and for a growing list of high profile politicians and businessmen, notably assisting President Gorbachev in the international expansion of the Green Cross environmental foundation.
Since joining Bell Pottinger he has advised high-profile political and business leaders across Russia and Eastern Europe.
